"There is a lot to discover in Darkly Told. It doesn’t offer immediate answers, nor is it meant to do so, but it will repay careful listening. Hopefully, this chapbook will be successful enough to prompt Alicia Cole to make a few more. Fans are better off for its appearance." - Dead Reckonings No. 18

"Spell Caster" 11" X 18" Bristol board and ink pen by John Richards
John E. Richards is a native of Wisconsin and has a strong interest in all things macabre and supernatural. His interest in drawing began early and his influences have been the black and white illustrations of Frank Frazetta, Berni Wrightson, Neil Adams and John Buscema.

His recent works consist of an illustrated flash fiction collection entitled A Last Breath and a follow on volume, Cailleach Teine. The theme and subject matter of these works would be akin to rural backwoods folklore brought to life, with pen and ink rendtions to accompany each original written selection.

Always preferring a non-traditional approach to the darker places and what may live there, fans of his work who peer into those spaces will never be disappointed by what looks back at them.

Mr. Richards currently lives in northern Nevada where he is working on a first novel, The Moths of Autumn, in addition to creating an ever expanding collection of images reflecting what may live out there in the woods, fields, bogs and barns of our imagination.
